There is a specific emphasis in this course on the use of molecular markers to characterize relationships between exposures to environmental factors and chronic diseases.

These components are addressed through lectures, computer practicals, and group discussion. Background materials that cover theoretical aspects of molecular epidemiology will be provided.
The target audience for this course are MSc and PhD students with an interest in Exposome research and a background in epidemiology. Students and professionals from outside Utrecht University are welcome. For the computer labs we will use R statistical software. Some experience on working with this software is recommended. Due to the international nature of the course, it is taught in English.
