Description

For leaders of European University Alliances and other large-scale inter-institutional collaborations, CHARM-EU is organising a new edition of our unique Spring School. It sets itself apart from traditional leadership programmes by focusing on a strategic area in higher education: inter-institutional collaborations in education. Navigate your challenges in inter-institutional leadership, by networking, reflecting and enhancing your leadership skills together with peers from a range of different European Universities.

International partnerships in higher education
International partnerships are key strategic drivers for higher education institutions. They support knowledge creation and transfer, develop innovative educational programmes, increase cultural understanding, and enhance competitive positions in global markets. These collaborations are growing, and educational leaders have a key-role in ensuring their success and maximising their impact.

Spring School for leadership skills
Enhance your leadership skills in this unique and innovative Spring School. Subjects such as educational leadership, inter-cultural skills, transdisciplinary collaboration in higher education will be discussed. Note that the focus of this course is on educational partnerships (rather than research).

Organised by CHARM-EU
After a successful Winter School in 2025, CHARM-EU is organising another edition of this course. It will be hosted by Utrecht University's Centre for Academic Teaching and Learning, and has been collaboratively developed by the nine partners of the CHARM-EU European University Alliance. University of Montpellier, Eötvös Loránd University Budapest, Åbo Akademi, University, Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg, University of Barcelona, Trinity College Dublin, Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, University of Bergen and Utrecht University. Their expertise in inter-institutional collaborations has been consolidated to create a unique programme to train higher education leaders.

Delivered by European experts from the CHARM-EU network of universities, participants will gain professional knowledge, network with higher education leaders, and be inspired to advance inter-institutional collaborations within their own university. It is ideal for those involved in EU alliances or local inter-institutional roles, and focuses on training higher education leaders in inter-institutional and intercultural collaboration, project and policy development leadership, and strategy and innovation.
