A course for academics, professionals, and change-makers, fostering a sense of responsibility and agency to address the pressing challenges posed by the planetary health crisis!
This advanced course explores how deeply embedded global systems contribute to the planetary crisis and what pathways enable meaningful transformation. Participants engage with topics such as the exposome, decoloniality, power relations between public and private sectors, and the governance and economic structures that shape both health and ecological stability. In this course, participants will critically examine system-level drivers of the planetary crisis and develop perspectives on how to contribute to equitable and sustainable systems transformation.
Designed for participants with prior knowledge or experience in planetary health, sustainability, health systems, or systems transformation. The course is suited for professionals, policymakers, researchers (including PhD candidates), and master's students seeking to contribute to structural change and to deepen their understanding of their role within broader societal and ecological systems.

The fees include course materials, coffee, tea, fruit, many Dutch cookies and a daily (vegetarian) lunch. The early bird registration fees apply until 1 April 2026.
*LMIC are low- and middle-income countries, as classified by the World Bank. Participants can apply for the LMIC fee based on the location of the institution which they are affiliated to. Please note: scholarship holders (including Erasmus+ KA171 participants) pay full fee.

The housing costs do not include a Utrecht Summer School sleeping bag. This is a separate product on the invoice. If you wish to bring your own bedding, please deselect or remove the sleeping bag from your order.
