Are you already able to order a drink or have a basic conversation in Dutch? This course follows on the Dutch Beginners Course 1. The course is perfect for those who already know the basics and are ready to take the next step.
In a small class of up to 16 students and under the guidance of a qualified teacher, you will quickly improve your Dutch language skills. Aside from the essential grammar and vocabulary work, we will use a variety of interactive exercises. Expect lots of pronunciation practice and engaging group discussions. You will also do writing assignments and short presentations that prepare you for real-life situations. You will form your first sentences using the past tense and learn more about travel and leisure in the Netherlands.

Babel is situated in a monumental building in the centre of Utrecht. After class, put your new language skills to the test: order coffee on a terrace, chat with the locals and discover how fun speaking Dutch can be!
Registration information:
Registration closes four weeks before the start of the course. You can apply via this website. After your application, Babel will send you a level placement test. If you have taken the test and your level matches the course, Babel will accept your application and you will receive an invoice.
This course is suitable for people who have reached CEFR level A1-. To check your level, you will need to take the Babel level placement test. This test consists of two parts: multiple choice questions and writing tasks. A teacher will assess your language skills. Based on your test result, you will be advised on a suitable course.
This course aims to improve your Dutch language skills up to CEFR level A1+. At the end of the course, you are able to:
You can choose to make use of the housing offered by Utrecht Summer School or you can arrange your own accommodation. The housing costs do not include a Utrecht Summer School sleeping bag. This appears as a separate item on the invoice. If you wish to bring your own bedding, please deselect the sleeping bag from your order.
