Description
Would you like to confidently order a drink at a café or strike up a brief conversation with Dutch locals? This course is designed specifically for beginners with no prior knowledge of the Dutch language. In this course, you will learn to communicate in Dutch at an elementary level (A1-).
In a small class of up to 16 students and under the guidance of a qualified teacher, you will quickly develop your Dutch language skills. You will take your first steps in learning the Dutch language in a pleasant and supportive environment. Aside from the essential grammar and vocabulary work, we will use a variety of interactive exercises. Expect lots of pronunciation practice and engaging group discussions. You will also do writing assignments and short presentations that prepare you for real-life situations.
In just two weeks:
- You can introduce yourself and have basic conversations.
- You can make appointments and place orders.
- You can use basic grammar and vocabulary, such as verbs, sentence structure and common words.
- You can understand typical Dutch customs and habits.
A former Summer School participant about the course:
“I thoroughly enjoyed the course and thought the teacher was one of the best teachers I’ve had to date. She’s made the class fun and we went through a lot of content despite the short time. She was patient and had amazing enthusiasm”
Babel is situated in a monumental building in the centre of Utrecht. After class, put your new language skills to the test: order coffee on a terrace, chat with the locals and discover how fun speaking Dutch can be!
Registration information:
