Description

A competency-based education (CBE) approach has been advocated in healthcare professions education worldwide. However, the implementation of a CBE approach in pharmacy education poses several challenges, especially in a formal university education setting. This programme aims to support pharmacy leaders and educators implement CBE models/aspects in their local settings with sessions assisting CBE implementation plans and practical examples from successful models.

The programme will be a mix of lectures and workshops, active participation by attendees is expected.

Aim of the course

At the end of the CBE summer course, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe the concepts of competency and CBE in pharmacy education and workforce development
  • Understand key aspects of CBE implementation in pharmacy education
  • Identify individual progress, challenges, and drivers in CBE adoption and implementation
  • Develop a CBE implementation plan to support local implementation of CBE

Costs

  • Course fee: €1100.00
  • Included: Course + course materials + lunch

The registration fee includes lunches, tea/coffee breaks, dinner on the first and last evenings, and Utrecht local transportation card. 

Places are limited to a maximum of 20 attendees. Attendees are responsible for arranging their own (inter)national transportation to the venue and accommodation for the duration of the summer course. If we don’t receive enough participants to run the programme, we will cancel the course and the registration fee will be refunded when cancellation occurs.

An early bird discount of € 200 applies to those who complete their registration by 24 May 2024. The discount will be applied upon acceptance.
