Prototyping is an important part of product development. A prototype gives the developers and the client the actual feel of a product. This summer course makes you familiar with different digital manufacturing techniques to make a prototype.
With Agile Prototyping we take you a step further through a short-cyclic trial-and-error make process to get from idea to a fully functional prototype in a shorter time with less costs and less risks. Agile Prototyping is a philosophy that urges you to think with your hands, not with your head.
The ‘Agile prototype your dream’ course guides you in a two-step process to get from an idea to a fully functional prototype. In the first step (week 1) you will get familiar with various digital manufacturing techniques, such as laser cutting, 3D printing, 3D milling, 3D drawing and programming microcontrollers. You will experience these techniques hands-on by doing and exploring different perspectives. For example, you first learn how the 3D printer works, followed by hacking the printer to make your prototype.
Step two of the process (week 2) is a learning-by-doing Innovation lab, Agile prototyping. With Agile Prototyping we take you through a short-cyclic trial-and-error make process to get from idea to a fully functional prototype in a shorter time with less costs and less risks. You are challenged to bring your own prototyping project and you are invited to integrate your existing knowledge with new insights. In this week you will use both your left and right brain to work towards a prototype. We will provide you with ‘just-in-time’ information during the phases of Agile prototyping which will result in a fully functional prototype. It will be a whole lot of fun exploring the boundaries of prototyping.
Our goal is to create an innovation experience that will give you insight into the pressures and demands of the real world. This course is extreme hands-on and deliberately experiential to develop the mind-set, reflexes, agility and resilience one needs in a dynamic world. You will receive intensive coaching from experienced coaches as you apply best practices for product development.

It is a two-week learning lab -a non-traditional experiential learning approach-. We will spend many hours on our lab together. Expect full days from 09.00 until 18.00 hours (but no homework)!
