21st Century Skills for Healthcare Professionals

This multi-professional course is intended for students in nursing, physiotherapy, medicine, allied health care workers, and many others fields, who want to develop new skills and work in an international context. The course is organised by the Institute for Nursing Studies and the Institute for Physiotherapy, UASU Utrecht. We will focus on themes as rehabilitation, technology, mental and social health, innovation and designing. These topics will be discussed in a multi-disciplinary working environment.

Interprofessional Collaboration in Stroke Management

In this summer course you will work in interprofessional groups (e.g. medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, psychology, physiotherapy, speech-language therapy, social work). You will start from your own profession and knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of the problems of patients after a stroke. Afterwards, you will learn how to prepare and participate in interprofessional discussions and rounds. During the course you will enlarge your knowledge about stroke and other professions. For this we use the ICF-system (International classification of functioning, disability and health). Before the start of the Summer School there will be up to 60 hours of preparatory assignments.
