Covid-19 update page

Greetings from Utrecht!

Throughout the course of the pandemic the Utrecht Summer School was in business. The team members have been back at the office since the spring of 2022, but still work from home every now and then. They can be reached via our support page

Most courses are offered on location again. A number of courses will be offered in an online format. Please, check out the course pages on our website to find out what the current status is.

For Summer School related questions, take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions page. If you wish to check the current regulations, travel restrictions or quarantine rules set by the Dutch government, please make sure to check the Dutch government website.

Best wishes from all of us,
the Utrecht Summer School Team

COVID-19 cancellation policy

The course descriptions state the format of the course (face-to-face, online or hybrid). In the unfortunate event we need to adjust or cancel the course, the following will apply:

Cancellation of the course by the Utrecht Summer School

If we need to cancel the course which you have applied for, you will be informed by email. The regular Terms and Conditions will apply. This means that the registration will be annulled without any costs, and course fees already paid will be reimbursed as soon as possible.

From on-site to online

Due to COVID regulations, we may need to change the on-site format of the course to an online format. If you have applied for this course, you will be informed by e-mail. If you registered for a face-to-face course and do not wish to participate in the online version you can request a:

1. A full refund;
2. A voucher for the Utrecht Summer School 2023*

* This voucher is for the summer course which you originally applied for. However, if you wish to sign up for a different course during the summer of 2023, please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

In order to register your choice, please, write to info@utrechtsummerschool.nl and let us know if you wish to receive a voucher or a refund. Do so within 14 days after receiving our e-mail regarding this switch to another format. After 14 days, cancelling your course will no longer be possible.

You wish to cancel your (online) course

If you are registered for a (online) course and we will be able to offer the course in the original format, the regular Terms and Conditions are applicable. This is also the case in the event that you will not be able to travel to the Netherlands due to travel restrictions.

This means that, if the participant cancels more than 4 weeks before the start of the online course, Utrecht Summer School will refund 85% of the full course fee (minus 15% administration fee). If the participant cancels within 4 weeks before the start of the online course, he/she will have to pay the full course fee.

Summer School courses outside Utrecht

If you have applied or wish to apply for one of our tracks taking place outside Utrecht, please note that different COVID-19 regulations may apply. We will closely monitor the situation regarding COVID-19. For students who, nearer the time, are not allowed to travel to the foreign destination, the Utrecht Summer School will try to offer a substitute course.
