Are you a German speaker who’s looking to learn Dutch? Our intensive Dutch Language Course for German Speakers will help you master the Dutch language and culture in just four weeks.
Do you want to learn Dutch quickly and confidently? Maybe you are planning to work, study or visit family in the Netherlands. This intensive summer course is specially designed for native German speakers. The course will help you reach intermediate level (B2).
In a small class of up to 14 students and under the guidance of a qualified teacher, you will quickly improve your Dutch language skills. What makes this course unique? We take advantage of the similarities between German and Dutch, helping you make rapid progress.
In this intensive course we will work on your Dutch language skills using a variety of interactive exercises. Aside from the essential grammar and vocabulary work, expect lots of pronunciation practice and engaging group discussions. You will do writing assignments and short presentations that prepare you for real-life situations.
In just four weeks:
You will be able to express yourself in Dutch.
You will understand detailed texts on a variety of subjects.

Registration closes four weeks before the start of the course. You can apply via this website. You do not have to take a level placement test, as this is a beginner’s course.
This course is suitable for learners who speak German at native level, with no prior knowledge of Dutch. The course will predominantly be taught in Dutch, with German and English as supporting languages.
This course aims to bring your Dutch to level B2. At the end of the course you will be able to:
You can choose to make use of the housing offered by Utrecht Summer School or you can arrange your own accommodation. The housing costs do not include a Utrecht Summer School sleeping bag. This appears as a separate item on the invoice. If you wish to bring your own bedding, please deselect the sleeping bag from your order.
