The Netherlands is a Schengen Area country. Depending on your nationality and the length of your stay you may need a visa to enter the Netherlands. Please check out the website of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs for more information: https://www.netherlandsandyou.nl/travel-and-residence/visas-for-the-netherlands.
You can apply for a Schengen visa at the Dutch mission (embassy or consulate) in the country where you reside or are entitled to reside. In some countries, you may apply for a visa to an outside agency. You can find the addresses and websites of the Dutch Embassies and Consulates here: http://www.government.nl/issues/embassies-consulates-and-other-representations.
It is your own responsibility to apply for a visa. Utrecht Summer School cannot offer any assistance other than provide a Letter of Acceptance. This letter will help you to apply for a visa.
If you do not get a visa, and you inform us about this at least four weeks before the start of the course you will receive a refund of 85% of the course plus housing fees. This means that, in case of a visa rejection, the regular Terms and Conditions apply.
A refund is only offered if the student cancels at least four weeks before the start of the course.
You can find our full cancellation policy on our website via the following link: Terms and Conditions | Utrecht Summer School.
Letter of Acceptance
The Letter of Acceptance can be useful (or even necessary) for your visa application procedure.
You can download a Letter of Acceptance after you have paid for your course. You can find the Letter in your online account under 'my courses'.
Please note that we do not offer Letters of Invitation. Ife you need a confirmation letter for your funding request you may use the confirmation email you receive from us when you are accepted to the course. This email should be sufficient proof that you have been accepted to the course (but not yet enrolled).
