Are you planning to follow a Bachelor's and Master’s degree programme and need to have excellent English language skills both in speaking and in writing. This course will help you to develop and improve the language skills needed for your studies.

You will work on several aspects of writing, such as the structure of your paper, text cohesion and style issues as well as improving your academic vocabulary. Your trainer will monitor your progress and give you regular feedback on your written and spoken academic performance.

By the end of the course, you will know exactly what your strengths and weaknesses are and how to overcome these. Your own texts will be used as a basis for the writing assignments. Moreover, you will be practising different aspects of presenting and will receive feedback both from the language trainer and from the other participants.

The course focuses on:

  • expanding your academic vocabulary;
  • increasing academic speaking skills;
  • acquiring self-study skills;
  • improving pronunciation;
  • increasing knowledge of grammar;
  • improving presenting skills;
  • improving academic writing skills.

This course is suitable for international Bachelor and Master students, who have already reached at least level B2 (CEF). You are required to do a placement test developed by Babel. This test consists of two parts: multiple choice and writing. A teacher will assess your language skills. On the basis of your test result you will get an advice about which course is suitable for you. Please note that it can take up to 5 working days until your language level is assessed. In case you have already completed the placement test we kindly ask for your patience, the Babel Service Desk will review your application within a few days. 

Virtual Classroom
Due to corona, we will teach this course in the virtual classroom. Via the virtual classroom you attend language classes from a distance, together with your fellow students. You are in close contact with your trainer, you can ask questions, share information and chat with fellow students. Course aim

At the end of this course you will have gained more knowledge of writing and presenting in English. Moreover, you will have honed your writing and presenting skills, and will be more confident about your own abilities in these areas.
