Are you looking to improve your English for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme? Our English for Academic Purposes course is designed to give you the key language skills you need for university. By the end of the course your level of fluency will enable you to comfortably follow an academic course and present in English. You’ll also feel more confident about your Academic English writing skills. 

During the course you’ll become acquainted with various aspects of academic writing, such as structure, text cohesion and style. We’ll also work on expanding your academic vocabulary and practise your spoken English. Your trainer will monitor your progress and give you feedback and advice on how to further improve your written and spoken English for academic purposes.

This course will help you:

  • expand your academic vocabulary;
  • improve your academic speaking skills;
  • acquire smart self-study strategies;
  • improve your pronunciation;
  • improve your grammar;
  • present with more confidence;
  • improve your academic writing skills.

Target audience

This course corresponds with level B2+, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR), and is suitable for international Bachelor and Master students who have reached at least level B2.

An English language proficiency test, consisting of multiple choice questions and writing assignments, must be completed in advance to determine your level. A teacher will assess your language skills and give  personal advice about the most appropriate English course. Please keep in mind it can take up to 5 working days to assess your level.

This course aims to improve your English language skills up to the level that is required to comfortably follow an academic course.
