This advanced course in Dutch offers you the opportunity to further improve your Dutch language skills. It focuses on an active command of the language mostly covering speaking and writing. The course aim is to reach level C1+ and enjoy expanding your knowledge of the Dutch culture.
This course is ideal for language learners who have passed the NT2 State Exam programme II and have reached C1 level, or who have been studying Dutch language and culture at a high level in their home country. In a small class of up to 14 students with a qualified language trainer and interesting guest speakers, you’ll learn all the ins and outs of Dutch language and culture.

The Babel institute is situated in a monumental building in the centre of Utrecht. We encourage you to explore this beautiful part of the Netherlands in your free time and practise your newly acquired skills with your classmates and Dutch locals.
Due to corona, we will teach this course in the virtual classroom. Via the virtual classroom you attend language classes from a distance, together with your fellow students. You are in close contact with your trainer, you can ask questions, share information and chat with fellow students. This course corresponds with level C1+, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR), and is suitable for learners who have reached CEFR level C1.
A Dutch language proficiency test, consisting of multiple choice questions and writing assignments, must be completed in advance to determine your level. A teacher will assess your language skills, leading to a personal advice about the most appropriate Dutch course. Please keep in mind it can take up to 3 working days to assess your level.
The course aims to expand your knowledge of the culture and society of the Netherlands, and to perfect your command of the Dutch language.
