
Are you planning to follow (or already in) a Bachelor's or Master’s programme for which you need to have excellent English language skills? This course will help you to improve the language skills needed for your studies. We focus on academic writing, but will also prepare you to give presentations in English and to discuss your academic ideas in small groups. You will work on various aspects of academic writing, such as the structure of your paper, text cohesion and style issues, as well as improving your academic vocabulary. Your trainer will monitor your progress and give you regular feedback.

Registration information: registration closes 4 weeks before the start of the course.This course is suitable for Bachelor and Master students who have already reached at least level B2 (CEF). To check your level, you will need to take the Babel placement test. This test consists of two parts: multiple choice questions and writing tasks. A teacher will assess your language skills. On the basis of your test result, you will be advised on a suitable course. If you have taken the placement test and your level matches, Babel will accept your application and you will receive an invoice.
Target audience
This course corresponds with level B2+, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR), and is suitable for international Bachelor and Master students who have reached at least level B2.
An English language proficiency test, consisting of multiple choice questions and writing assignments, must be completed in advance to determine your level. A teacher will assess your language skills and give personal advice about the most appropriate English course. Please keep in mind it can take up to 5 working days to assess your level.
Aim of the course
At the end of this course you will have gained more knowledge of academic writing and presenting in English. You will have practised your own academic skills and received structured feedback to help you improve and excel in English
